Heavyweight Tomasz Adamek (42-1, 27 KOs) was able to outbox Michael Grant (46-4, 34 KOs) for the majority of their twelve round fight on Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. During the twelfth and final round, Grant was able to badly hurt Adamek. He couldn't finish him off as the time ran out on the clock. Adamek used his survival skills to work down the clock until the final bell.

"I knew he was gone, but I couldn't catch him. I knew he was hurt. I was trying to get him out of there," Grant said.

The final scores were 117-111, 118-110 and 118-111. A lot of ringside observers saw the fight a little bit closer. Grant thought the scores were too wide.

"I thought it was too wide, but it's his hometown," Grant said.
