Falls Park, Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom - Welterweight prospect Paddy Donovan (7-0, 5 KOs), who is trained by former world champion Andy Lee, demolished Jose Luis Castillo (9-6 and not to be confused with the former champion of the same name) in one round.

When Donovan landed his first big shot to the body, Castillo went down to his knees and stayed down in pain for the full count.

In a super middleweight clash for a WBC regional title, Padraig McCrory (12-0, 6 KOs) picked up a fifth round stoppage of Sergei Gorokhov (11-3-2, 7 KOs).

McCrory was using a stiff to control the action in the early rounds, which kept the charging Gorokhov at bay. The Russian boxer was charging forward, but unable to land many impactful shots.

In the fourth, the fight was becoming a one-sided battle. The nose of Gorokhov was bleeding and there was a cut on it. He was dropped by a counter and starting to take punishment. He was reeling after further punches from McCrory, but managed to survive.

At the start of the fifth, McCrory went back to work with damaging shots. Gorokhov kept pawing at his nose from the cut on the bridge of his nose and was taken to the ringside doctor. The fight was stopped as Gorokhov appeared to have no interest in moving forward.
