MGM Promotions looks set to make an assault on another UK city.
The promotional arm of the Puerto Banus-based outfit has found success with the likes of MGM Birmingham, MGM Scotland and MGM Manchester and has now branched out further by unveiling MGM Liverpool.
MGM, which began as a managerial outfit fronted by now-retired former world title challenger Matthew Macklin, has extended its reach throughout the sport since it started and is now looking to become a staple of the North West scene.
The Liverpool team will put their first show on in the autumn, with October 7 at Greenbank Sports Academy set as the date and venue.
And managing director and event promoter, Sam Kynoch, is both delighted and excited to be promoting shows under the MGM banner in one of the country’s most thriving areas.
“Liverpool is a great fight city and with MGM managing so many Liverpool-based boxers it was a natural move to start promoting events in the city,” he said.
Undefeated super-welterweight prospect James Metcalf (13-0, 6 KOs) is expected to headline the show, while there will be action for Ryan Moorhead (7-1, 1 KO) and John Quigley (13-0, 2 KOs) –– both of whom have recently agreed deals with MGM –– alongside promising prospect Ged Carroll (2-0).
Details regarding further additions to the bill will be revealed in due course.
