The WBA was very busy today. BoxingScene.com was advised that several eliminators and world title fights are heading to a purse bid. A heavyweight eliminator has been set between Kali Meehan and Ruslan Chagaev. The winner will get a future shot at the winner of the April 3 bout between champion David Haye and John Ruiz.
Cruiserweight champion Guillermo Jones has been ordered to defend the title against tough Valery Brudov. Lightweight champion Paulus Moses will have to fight Miguel Acosta, and the rematch between super flyweight champion Nobuo Nashiro and Hugo Cazares has been ordered.
The purse bids for all of the above fights will take place on February 22 at 11:00 am at the Sheraton Panama Hotel & Convention Center, in Panama City.
