International Boxing Federation (IBF) #1 flyweight ranked, McWilliams Arroyo, will travel to Thailand on September 2, for his fight against the IBF champion 112 pounds champion, Amnat Ruenroeng, to be held Wednesday, September 10, at the Liptapanlop Hall in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, in a Jimmy’s Boxing presentation.

“We could coordinate everything related to McWilliams trip for September 2, because the date to travel was scheduled to arrive just four days before the fight. But now he has more time before the fight in Thailand,” said Peter Rivera, PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) Vice-President. “It will be a long journey to Thailand, like 29 hours, but we trust in the experience McWilliams has. When he was an amateur fighter he had to go to many countries in all the world to compete.”

Meanwhile, the officials for the fight between Arroyo (15-1, 13 KOs) and Ruenroeng (13-0, 5 KOs) will be referee Pat Russell, from United States, and the judges Jonathan Davis, from United States, as well as Ben Keilty, from Australia, and Ignatius Missailidis, from Australia.

“We are satisfied with the appointment of these officials for the fight. That was something we were aware,” added Rivera.

Arroyo, a 2008 Olympian from Puerto Rico, is coming off a spectacular second round KO victory last June 19 over Froilan Saludar in an elimination bout for the first place in the IBF flyweight rankings. Arroyo is a gold medalist at the 2009 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Italy and also won gold medals at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games in Colombia and at the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil.

Ruenroeng is a bronze medalist of the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Chicago and represented Thailand at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Ruenroeng is the IBF flyweight champion since January 22, 2014 when he beat Filipino Rocky Fuentes by unanimous decision and defended his crown on May 7, 2014 with a split decision victory over Japanese Kazuto Ioka.
