Tonight makes the long awaited professional debut of Juan McPherson. McPherson along with long time trainer Alvin Jones, will begin the healing process of the controversial 2004 disqualification loss at the U.S. Olympic Trials. McPherson was ranked the top amateur in the nation at 152lbs before his dream of Olympic Gold was suddenly and wrongfully halted.
Earlier tonight McPherson faced Wilmer Torres (11-4) from Iowa.
The fight was held at the Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center and promoted by Mr. David Kaminski (29) of Beachwood, Ohio. Although Dave might still be in his 20s, he is forgotten more than most people will ever learn in this sport. Dave’s strong business skills are savvy and his passion for the sport will place Dave in the promotional spotlight for many years to come. In my dealings with Dave, I have come to the conclusion that he is what this sport needs, a fresh face with a love of the sweet science.
Juan McPherson won his professional debut against over Wilmer Torres with ease. McPherson hardly broke a sweat and looked like a seasoned veteran as he dazzled the crowd and improved his record to 1-0. The loss drops Torres to 11-5...........More Details Coming Soon!
Look for McPherson to stay active in the gym and the ring. His management team plans to have him back in the ring with in the next 90 days.
