In an earlier interview, trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. advised Adrien Broner to avoid an immediate rematch with WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (35-3, 31KOs). One opponent that Mayweather likes for Maidana is undefeated Danny Garcia (27-0, 16KOs), who currently holds the WBA/WBO junior welterweight titles but plans to move up to 147 next year.
"That's a good fight. Maidana has good punching power. I don't really know about the punching of Danny Garcia. I think he punches pretty decent, but I think Maidana probably punches harder. But punching power makes no difference because it all depends on who gets there first, who gets there first with the right punch," Mayweather Sr. said.
