WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley has already signed his portion of the contract for a May 1 title defense against Floyd Mayweather Jr. The terms have been agreed upon. Mosley signed last Friday. Everyone involved is waiting on Mayweather to sign his portion of the deal.
For reasons unknown, Mayweather has yet to sign the contract. Richard Schaefer, CEO for Golden Boy Promotions, is frustrated because until they receive a signed contact from Mayweather, they are unable to move forward with any fight related promotion for the event. Schaefer doesn't know what's going on.
"He still hasn't signed. I am so frustrated," Schaefer said to ESPN.com. "I wanted both guys to go down to the Super Bowl in Miami to do some promotional stuff. I don't know what Floyd is waiting for. I have no clue. I have a signed contract from Shane on my desk. I have nothing from Floyd."
"I always tell you, a signed deal is a done deal. It will only be done when Floyd signs, and that hasn't happened yet. I don't know of any deal terms that are not agreed to. I don't understand it."
