Floyd Mayweather Jr. has no concerns about the power of WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley. The biggest advantages most experts are giving to Mosley are in the categories of power and size. Mayweather follows the belief that great boxing ability will always beat power and size. He won't let Mosley land any of the power, so the advantage in power won't matter.
"There's a blueprint on how to beat Mosley. Mosley keeps talking about his power, and how strong he is. This is not a weight lifting contest. This is a boxing match, not a weight lifting contest. Now if it was a weight lifting contest, yeah you may win, but it's obvious that when you look at the two fighters records, and you look at the two fighters bank accounts, and you see which fighter is a lot smarter - and that would be me," Mayweather said.
Mayweather continues to talk about how he chased after Mosley ten years ago, and was turned down. While most think Mayweather is fighting Mosley because a Manny Pacquiao payday is not on the table, Mayweather has a similiar mindset about Mosley.
"I was trying to face Shane and trying to fight Shane when he was undefeated. Now that Shane has five losses, and he's 38-years-old, and if he gets six losses it really don't matter because he lost to the best, which is Floyd Mayweather, and he also made his biggest payday. In my last two fights, I made more money than Shane Mosley made in his whole career," Mayweather said.
