Jesse Hart (16-0 13 KOs) has advised Boxingscene.com that he will return to the to ring on May 2nd on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao super fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. His opponent will be determined in the near future.
"I talked to (Arum) direct," said an excited Hart. "I'm just so excited to have this opportunity. I am very grateful. I think I have the greatest promoter in the world. I don't call him Bob, I call him Papa. This is official. Papa ain't going to say something unless it's official.
"You gotta understand something. You can't be on this card unless you a somebody. That's what goes to show what Pops thinks about me. You guys understand Pops has been in this business a long time. He recognizes the talent he has."
The 25-year-old super middleweight prospect feels that performing on boxing's highest stage will skyrocket his career and points to Oscar De La Hoya, who was built into a superstar by Arum, as an example that he would like to follow.
"I think this will catapult me. I look at it like this - in boxing you have two types of stars - You have boxing stars and superstars. I want to be on a level of Oscar De La Hoya and Sugar Ray Leonard. Those guys are superstars.
"Those guys can make money after they leave boxing. If you look at the Dancing With the Stars and Ray Leonard did the Contender and Oscar is on the promotion side and he can still do a commercial to this day because of his smile.
"But you gotta understand where he comes from and who built him into a superstar. My Papa did that. Papa built him into a superstar. I think this fight right here will catapult me to superstardom," Hart told Boxingscene.com.
Hart went 5-0 in 2014 with his last fight being a 2nd round knockout of Samuel Miller in December.
