Even rival networks in other countries are coming together for the May 2nd showdown between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. According to ESPN Deportes, a deal is nearly complete where rival networks in Mexico, Televisa and TV Azteca, will simultaneously carry the Mayweather-Pacquiao clash, which takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Azteca has carried Pacquiao's fights since 2007 and Televisa is aligned with Mayweather. In the United States, rival networks HBO (Pacquiao) and Showtime (Mayweather) are coming together to stage the pay-per-view telecast.
Mayweather-Pacquiao is expected to become the most lucrative event in the history of the sport, with many estimating a sum of $300 million being generated.
