Floyd Mayweather insists he is still considering his next opponent for his planned farewell fight in September.
The American superstar has vowed to hang up his gloves after his 49th bout, expected to be held in Las Vegas on September 12, but is yet to choose the man in the opposite corner.
Mayweather this week suggested he would even offer a rematch to the 42-year-old Oscar De La Hoya, who has since ruled out coming out of retirement to avenge his 2007 points defeat.
Amir Khan has made renewed efforts to finally land a lucrative clash against the unbeaten 38-year-old, but he will have to wait longer for Mayweather’s final decision.
“I look forward to fighting this September, hopefully we've got a good competitor”, he told Mayweather Promotions.
“I'm pretty sure we will have a solid competitor. Everything takes time, we’ll see.
“We don’t know yet. We have to take time and we’ll see.”
