MGM Grand, Las Vegas - During a Tuesday gathering with select members of the media, Floyd Mayweather Jr. apologized for the critical comments that he made last year about his close friend and adviser, Leonard Ellerbe.

For months, there was a lot of speculation as to Ellerbe's status with Mayweather Promotions.

But, the two of them patched things up and were sitting side by side when Mayweather issued his apology.

"After the last fight, I said some things about my friend that I want to apologize for. Like I said before, it was very immature that I spoke and said something about Leonard that I shouldn't have said. I was kind of upset. But, real friends go through certain things. But we're still here and still strong," Mayweather said.
