According to sources in Nicaragua, Saturday's event filled with veterans could be a prelude to a battle of former champions, with Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga facing Luis Ramon "Yori Boy" Campas in the coming months.

The two fighters were involved in easy co-featured bouts at the OKC Downtown Airpark in Oklahoma City. In the main event, 40-year-old Mayorga stopped Allen Medina in the first round. Mayorga improved to 30-8-1 with 24 knockouts. It was Mayorga's first fight since a March 2011 TKO defeat to Miguel Cotto.

In the co-feature, Campas won a six round unanimous decision over Julius Caesar Spears. Campas won on all three scorecards 59-55, 59-55 and 60-54 to raise his record to 103-17-3, with 79 wins in the fast lane.

It's being reported that both fighters may now head into a fight against each other, with the details being worked out.
