Regardless of whatever is floating out there on social media, a fight between junior welterweights Mauricio Herrera and Hank Lundy has not been finalized.
Eric Gomez, Vice President and matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions told BoxingScene.com on Monday morning - "It's not done, there have been some discussions but it's not done. We're still working on it."
Herrera, had a tough luck 2014 with losing very disputed decisions to Danny Garcia and Jose Benavides, sandwiched around a victor over Johan Perez. Lundy is coming of a tough ten round split decision loss to Thomas Dulorme back in December. Herrera-Lundy looks to be an interesting pairing.
But Gomez reiterates - "It hasn't been approved, we don't have a date, yet. We're talking to HBO about possibly doing another (HBO) Latino show. That's one of the fights we would consider - but nothing's done. It's all very premature - but yes it's a fight we're trying to do."
