DALLAS, TX – The Undercard Promotions, LLC and the North American Boxing Organization (NABO) announce the unanimous decision of NABO to sanction the Maurice Hooker vs. Karim Martinez fight for the vacant WBO NABO Junior Welterweight Championship Title on Friday, June 26, 2015, 8 p.m. at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Downtown Dallas. The winner of the NABO Championship will garner an automatic Top 15 ranking into the World Boxing Organization (WBO) monthly world ratings.
The Undercard Promotions Friday Night Fights will showcase a battle between two top Texas boxing warriors. The fast rising, undefeated Dallas native Maurice “Mighty Mo” Hooker boasts a record of 17(13)-0-2 and an impressive KO rate of 68.42%. Hooker has been a featured boxer on The Undercard reality show since inception and has worked in camp with Miguel Cotto, Ruslan Provodnikov and Ray Beltran. With an equally impressive record of 16(7)-1-0 and a KO rate of 41.18%, the Humble, Texas southpaw Karim “KC” Martinez was the sparring partner for such Mexican superstars as Antonio Margarito and Bam Bam Rios. Martinez also had an impressive amateur career, winning the 2008 Texas State Golden Gloves, and he was the runner-up at the 2007 National PAL boxing tournament.
In addition, this World-Class Fight Night card will showcase up to 50 rounds of boxing. The bout card features five undefeated boxers, including Carlos Adame, Jr., Fernando Garcia, Enver Halili, Marco Vasquez, Jr. and Raul Cespedes. Local favorite, Tony Mack, will round out the evening’s card.
Hooker vs. Martinez is a 10-round WBO NABO Junior Welterweight championship promoted by The Undercard Promotions, LLC and sponsored by Budweiser. Tickets are on-sale at BoxingUndercard.com beginning Friday, May 22. Ticket prices start as low as $20 and go up to $125 at ringside. A special voucher for reduced price garage parking may also be purchased for an additional $10. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. CST with the first bout scheduled for 8 p.m. CST.
