The start of September is still several weeks away, but for manager Mario Arano it's the signpost for Lucas Matthysse to contest the WBC super lightweight championship.
During an interview with Argentinian radio show “Primer Guante”, “Arano Box” President commented about the stage of intricate negotiations for mandatory clash between Matthysse (37-3, 34KOs) and undefeated Ukrainian, Viktor Postol (27-0, 11KOs).
“Ever since the WBC ordered the fight between Lucas and Postol, the negotiations started to reach an agreement. The date of the fight could be in the first week of September in the United States," explained Arano.
He also commented about the possibility of fighting against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the future.
“There is no chance of Lucas fighting against Mayweather, as Floyd is aware that Lucas is a tough opponent. If we defeat Postol the next opponent will be Pacquiao,” Matthysse´s manager commented.
He also denied the possibility of a rematch with Ruslan Provdnikov.
