It took longer than promised but Golden Boy Promotions and Lucas Matthysse have received their funds from the organizers of the July 14th event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

So with that said, Matthysse and his crew will be flying out there for his scheduled date with Manny Pacquiao on Tuesday.

"We have a fight, everything's great, everything's perfect," confirmed Eric Gomez, the president of Golden Boy, on Monday afternoon ."They're flying out tomorrow, we're looking forward to it. Lucas is ready and he's ready to defend his title against a legend."

The past few weeks this promotion was in limbo as deadlines passed for money to arrive to Golden Boy. Adding to that, there have been dozens of crirculating stories regarding the possibility of the event being postponed to a later date.

But all's well that ends well.

"The fights on - that's the important thing - Lucas is very happy. It's a dream for him to fight against Pacquiao. There were a few bumps in the lead up to the fight but everything's been cleared up and we're happy that the fights on and it's going to happen. It's going to be a great fight," said Gomez.

Matthysee, who holds the "regular" version of the WBA welterweight title, defeated Tewa Kiram back on January 27th in eight rounds. The victory gained the vacant WBA crown for the Argentinean puncher.

Pacquiao has been inactive since losing the WBO world title in July 2017, when he traveled to Australia and was upset over twelve rounds in his showdown with 2012 Olympian Jeff Horn before a crowd of over 50,000 fans at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
