On April 18th from the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York - Ruslan Provodnikov and Lucas Matthysse will engage in what figures to be a memorable junior welterweight contest. And it's a fight that will employ VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association) drug testing for both combatants.
"Yes, it's all confirmed VADA has already officially started testing last week,"said Vadim Kornilov, the manager of Provodnikov, while watching his man train from the Wild Card Boxing Club on Monday.
And Provodnikov's side will be footing the side for both boxers.
"Initially, the conversations were that we were each going to cover our side but after the VADA cost was higher for their side because he's training in Argentina, they didn't want to pay anything," explained Kornilov. "So we paid the whole cost for both fighters."
VADA president, Dr. Margaret Goodman, confirmed Kornilov's statements.
