Lucas Matthysse (28-2, 26KOs) is promising to offer a much better performance than his countryman, Marcos Maidana, on September 17th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Maidana won a close majority decision over Erik Morales in April, and now Matthysse gets his chance to face the Mexican warrior for the vacant WBC 140-pound title. Matthysse and Maidana fought several times when they were amateurs in Argentina.

"There is no doubt that Maidana is a big puncher but his style is ordinary. I am more complete in my boxing skills, cutting the angles, and that’s the difference. We are very prepared to fight for the world title. We’ll be ready," Matthysse said.

Matthysse was very upset with the scores of his last two fights in the United States. He believes he was robbed by the judges in his close points defeats to Zab Judah and Devon Alexander.

"It wasn’t difficult to decide to fight in the United States because I know I won those two fights. I'm confident and I trust the judges. I'm focusing on my fight. I'm leaving it in the hands of the judges," Matthysse said.
