Welterweight Matthew Hatton may have been hitting the local pub with older brother Ricky Hatton. The younger Hatton was contacted by Golden Boy Promotions to see if he was interested in a possible fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr - if Floyd's fight with Manny Pacquiao falls apart. Hatton told News of The World that he is standing by for the call to fight Mayweather.

Hatton says the public is calling him a huge undercard but he plans to prove everyone wrong by pulling off the biggest upset of the new decade with a big win over Mayweather. He thinks the right punch on the chin could turn off Mayweather's lights.

"Give me the chance and I can beat Mayweather Jr. and cause the biggest shock in boxing history. I know that people would give me a slim chance and I would be a huge underdog - but I absolutely fancy my chances of beating him. I would be prepared to fight anyone and in boxing all it takes is one punch to upset any man," Hatton said.

"It would be an honour for me to share the ring with the best fighter in the world and it is great to know he wants to box me. He is keen to fight in England and made it clear I am top of the list if Pacquiao falls through. If it comes off I will enjoy every minute of it but, if not, there are other options for me."
