A Minnesota grudge match is taking place on January 19th at the Convention Center in Minneapolis. Middleweights Matt Vanda (44-14, 24KOs) and Caleb Truax (20-1-1, 12KOs) will collide over ten rounds.

Truax has won two in a row since the decision loss to Jermain Taylor in April, where Truax put up a tougher showing than expected and dropped Taylor in the ninth. Vanda has not fought since the TKO defeat to Marco Antonio Rubio in December 2011. Vanda claims the bout with Truax will be the final fight of his long career, which included matches with Yori Boy Campas, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., John Duddy and many others.
