Mateusz Masternak (18-0, 13 KO) retained the interim WBC Youth Cruiserweight title after knocking out Faisal Ibnel Arrami (11-2, 8 KO) in the eight round of headline bout at the Diamond Boxing Night in Katowice, Poland. That's another fight which will certainly let the Polish cruiser gain higher positions in the important federation's rankings.

The Pole completely dominated "The African King" who didn't do much during the whole clash and finished with a badly damaged face. After the seventh round, all the three judges scored 70:63 for the 22-year-old prospect who finished the work in the subsequent one. Then, Masternak shook Arrami with a solid punch on his chin and was continuing the attack when the Tunisian's corner reasonably decided to stop the uneven bout. Who will stop this promising cruiser?

Also on the show, experienced Maciej Zegan (41-5-1, 21 KO) won a majority decision over Pierre Franscois Bonicel (17-4-2, 7 KO) in a penultimate fight. The victory let the Pole win the vacant WBO European Lightweight belt and will certainly help "Boom Boom" to get a rating on the WBO's list of top 15 lightweight fighters. The judges scored 115:112 and 114:113 for Zegan and 114:113 for the '84 born Frenchman. Hovever, the verdict looks quite controversially.

The beginning of the contest was very promising for the Polish lightweight who floored Bonicel in the first round with a short right hook. The opening four rounds passed to Zegan's dictation but, starting with the fifth one, "Boom Boom" was moving back and let Bonicel to take the initiative. The French lightweight who was attacking still stronger and stronger and was even close to finishing the Pole in the last three minutes. Ultimately, Zegan managed to survive and win the fight.
