WBC Heavyweight Champion Oleg Maskaev, who was thirty-nine-years young on Sunday, was going to get a surprise chance to blow out his own candles.
A surprise party together with a big birthday cake had been arranged in Cancun at a swanky restaurant by the sea.
It’d been planned because Oleg and his entourage were scheduled to arrive in Cancun on Saturday, which is when their hotel reservations were booked for.
But not hide or hair was seen of them. However, the WBC has pledged to save some cake for the hard punching Cinderella Man when he can be found and congratulated.
WBC Champ Maskaev from Russia, defends his title against Interim Champ Samuel Peter on March 8th, in Cancun’s Bull ring.
It’s Mexico’s first ever world heavyweight title fight and the event has been dubbed "History in Cancun."
