BoxingScene.com has learned that newly crowned WBO junior bantamweight champion Marvin Sonsona (14-0, 12KOs) will make the first defense of his title on November 21 at Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada. Sonsona captured the title on Friday night, pulling off an impressive twelve round decision to grab the title from Jose “Carita” Lopez (39-8-2, 32KOs), which took place at Casino Rama.
Sampson Boxing promotes Sonsona and has the lead role on the next show with Orion Sports Management and Warriors Boxing involved as well. Former champion Steve Molitor, who appeared in the co-feature on Friday, will probably return on the same card.
