Payton Promotions will be making boxing history in Harrisburg, PA on Saturday, September 24 as it hosts the second installment of “Capitol Punishment” at the new Metro Bank Park on City Island. The Capitol Punishment show, which will feature 7-8 action packed professional boxing fights, will be the first of its kind to be hosted on City Island.

Headlining the “Capitol Punishment” event will be a fight at lightweight between Stan Martyniouk and Bryne Green that promises to produce fireworks. Martyniouk, who represented the US at the Amateur World Championships, is currently 10-1, with 1 knockout. Although, his record doesn’t necessarily show it, Stan is a hard puncher, with an exciting, fan pleasing style.  He was viewed as one of the top prospects in the world at lightweight and was undefeated up until his most recent fight in which he lost a close decision in a slugfest that saw him hit the canvas and battle back to lose a close decision. This is his first fight since and you can see the seriousness with which he takes his next bout.

Bryne Green is 7-4 as a professional boxer and has 3 knockouts. His record, however, is very misleading as a majority of his losses came from being on the wrong end of some questionable decisions. In Green’s most recent fight he dominated rising prospect Tyrone Luckey. Luckey, who many thought was on his way to a world championship, was undefeated and had stopped all of his opponents inside the distance before stepping into the ring with Greene and being starched. This is a main event that no boxing fan will want to miss. It will be a firefight that is being fought at an elite level.

Two other attractions that will be featured on the” Capitol Punishment” show are Local Harrisburg talents Josh Bowles and Stafford Wedderburne. Bowles will look to continue his winning ways on September 24th after making his Philadelphia debut in July in which he turned in a dominating performance against Cyprian Khumalo.  Bowles wobbled his opponent numerous times in a boxing exhibition that saw him stream together smooth combinations both upstairs and down. He is anxious to shine for his city and win his third straight professional fight in front of all his fans.

Another Harrisburg native, Stafford Wedderburne will make his professional debut on the September 24 “Capitol Punishment” show against an opponent that is yet to be determined. Wedderburne is no stranger to the sport of boxing however; over the past three years he has put together a successful amateur career consisting of close to forty fights and a Pennsylvania State Golden Gloves title. At the ripe age of 18, this knockout artist has faced the very best in the world and has proven that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the professional ranks.

Another intriguing matchup set to take place on the “Capitol Punishment” card is a rematch between Harrisburg fighter Josh Lugo (0-1) and Grayson Blake (3-0 1 KO) of Reading, PA.  Their first fight saw Blake edge out a win in what many thought was a closer fight than the scorecards read. Lugo feels that he will have an edge in their upcoming clash due to better preparation on his part and fighting in his hometown. If the first fight was any indication of action in the ring, and now with a little rivalry mixed in, this may very well be the fight of the night.

Other local fighters that will be featured in the “Capitol Punishment” show are York, PA phenoms Steve Weimer (7-0), Terrence Williams (Pro Debut) and Jesus Saucedo (2-0-1). They look to continue to show that Central Pennsylvania is turning into a hotbed for young talented fighters.

Saturday's September 24th "Capitol Punishment - Pro Boxing Returns" event is presented by Payton Promotions. Tickets are priced at $35, $45 and $500 for a VIP ringside table that seats 8. Tickets can be purched at www.paytonpromotions.com or by visiting the Metro Bank Park box office located on City Island in Harrisburg, PA.
