The anticipated rematch between Roman 'Rocky' Martinez and Orlando Salido is a done deal, Salido's manager Sean Gibbons confirmed to BoxingScene.com.
Now the question is, when and where will the fight take place?
In their first fight on April 11 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Martinez won a hard-fought 12 round unanimous decision over Salido.
There was talk the Martinez-Salido rematch would take place on September 19.
According to multiple sources in recent days, the fight is well on it's way to end up on the Showtime Pay-Per-View undercard of the proposed bout between Floyd Mayweather and Andre Berto on September 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Word of Martinez-Saldio ending up on the PPV event grew even stronger after BoxingScene reported on Tuesday that Martinez, along with McJoe Arroyo, signed with adviser Al Haymon, who works with over 200 fighters - including Mayweather.
However, nothing has been finalized, according to Gibbons.
"The Salido versus Rocky (Martinez) fight is made," Gibbons told BoxingScene.com through a text message. "We are still waiting on a site and date."
Martinez (29-3-2, 17 KOs) won the WBO super featherweight title with the Salido win. A pro since the age of 15, Salido (42-13-2, 29 KOs) had a three-bout winning streak snapped with the loss to Martinez.
