Roman "Rocky" Martinez (28-2-2, 17KOs) is putting his career on the line when he faces WBO super featherweight champion Orlando Salido (42-12-2, 29KOs) on April 11th at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Martinez had planned to campaign at lightweight and moved back to the super featherweight limit of 130-pounds for the opportunity to face Salido, who knocked out the challenger's Puerto Rican countrymen Orlando Cruz and Juan Manuel Lopez in past fights.

Martinez was knocked out in eight rounds in November of 2013 by Mikey Garcia in Texas. He took more than a year off, returning last December to knock Herbert Quartey out in two rounds. Another loss, Martinez admits, would send him down to a point where he might, at age 32, consider the possibility of retirement.

"It's the biggest fight of my career," said Martinez. "Beating Salido put me back on top. [And if I lost] it would be a big letdown. I have taken things very seriously in preparing for this fight because my career will depend on the outcome."
