Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) is convinced that his tailor-made strategy to defeat former three division world champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) and retain his WBC middleweight title, is right.

"Maravilla" who's been training for more than fourteen weeks stated: "I know I can't [afford to] be wrong [with how I approach this fight], so I'm focused heavily on my strategy. I'm convinced that Cotto is a strong opponent, but I'm the champion and I’ll defend my title with pride."

Martinez is also sure the fight will end before twelve rounds. The HBO Pay-Per-View headliner will take place on the 7th of June at Madison Square Garden in New York.

"I'm gradually and thoroughly analyzing Miguel Cotto.  I must sit down with [trainers] Pablo and Gabriel [Sarmiento] to finish the strategy for the fight. I have a smaller and lighter opponent than my previous ones. I must adapt correctly to knock Cotto out," commented Martinez.
