Roman 'Rocky' Martinez (27-1-2, 16 KO's), the champion of the WBO at 130-pounds, returns from successfully defending his crown in China against Diego Magdaleno. Martinez is now being discussed as the next opponent for undefeated WBO featherweight champion, Miguel Angel "Mikey" Garcia on September 21. Garcia would move up in weight for the match. The event, which according to Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is going to take place in Puerto Rico, would also feature a clash between Nonito Donaire and Juan Manuel Lopez.

"It's a costly fight. I took three strong fights, two of them with number one ranked contenders, and I have to be given respect. Taking place here in Puerto Rico, it has to be the best purse of my life and have certain things have to be in my favor that I haven't had in recent fights," Martinez said.

One of his concerns, Martínez concerns wants more protection from the WBO when appointing judges and other officials - discussing how Robert Hoyle, a Las Vegas judge, favored Magdaleno 116-111 despite a knockdown in the fourth.

"I complied with everything they asked of me. Twice I fought against the number one ranked contender. Now it's my turn. It's my time," he said.
