At the University Arena in Limerick, Ireland - Two talked-about heavyweights with a vast difference in almost every department, scored easy first-round kayos on the undercard of the show. Firstly, comebacking local hero and "people's champion" Martin Rogan (13-2, 7 KOs), 39, destroyed tough Bulgarian journeyman Yavor Marinchev (5-21, 3 KOs), who is better or, at least, sturdier, than his record suggests, with a big left hand to the solar plexus at 2:51.
Soon after this, 25-year old Cubano Ismaikel "Rebel" Perez moved up to 12-0, with 10 KOs, after an easy annihilation of Latvian journeyman Pavels Dolgovs (6-10-1, 4 KOs). Dolgovs was down a minute after the starting bell on a right uppercut by the Cuban fighter. He got up but soon was finished with a huge left hook to the jaw. Time was 1:41 of the first round.
