Martin Murray (37-4-1, 17 KOs) is the latest name to be added to the Josh Warrington-Carl Frampton card on December 22 in Manchester.

The show, which will be shown live on BT Sport Box Office in the UK, will see Warrington make the first defence of the IBF Featherweight title he won in May against Lee Selby.

Murray, 36, will have his second outing of 2018 after winning the WBC Silver Middleweight title in June with a 12 round unanimous decision verdict over Mexican Roberto Garcia. His victory propelled him up to number two in the governing body’s rankings behind their number one contender Gennady Golovkin who lost his title to Saul Alvarez in their September rematch.

Murray, a former opponent of Golovkin’s, and a four-time world title challenger between 160 and 168lbs said “Good to see so many top fighters getting added to the #FramptonWarrington card. It’s going to be some show. News coming soon on my next fight which is on the same bill so can’t wait. Will post details asap!”
Carl Frampton now trains alongside Murray as part of the evolving and consistently successful Jamie Moore gym which also features the likes of Jack Catterall and Tommy Coyle.

The news follows on from yesterday’s announcement that recent WBC Flyweight title challenger Paddy Barnes will make his return to action on the December 22 PPV broadcast. He joins an undercard which features JJ Metcalf defending his WBC International Super Welterweight title against Liam Williams, Mark Heffron’s shot at the vacant British Middleweight title (opponent still to be announced), Michael Conlan, Sam Maxwell, the professional debut of Tommy Fury and much more.
