Heavyweight contender Martin Bakole is ready and willing to face Chinese giant Zhilei Zhang.
Last Saturday night at the Copper Box in London, Zhang pulled off a stunner when he stopped undefeated Joe Joyce in six rounds to capture the WBO inertim-heavyweight title.
Bakole is back in the ring this Saturday in Poland, when he faces Ihor 'Hulk' Shevadzutskyi. Last year, Bakole dropped and decisioned Olympic gold medalist Tony Yoka.
Joyce has the option of an immediate rematch but may take an interim-fight.
If Joyce goes in another direction, Bakole would jump on the opportunity to face Zhang.
"100 percent," he told Sky Sports. "I would say yes without even thinking.
"That [win over Joyce] was amazing. People enjoyed that even though they might have been disappointed to see Joe Joyce stopped. People did not expect that but it's boxing, it happened.
"You can make a mistake and Joe Joyce made a big mistake of standing before big Zhang - and I think they maybe didn't take it serious. He gets what he gets."
Joyce had issues dealing with Zhang's southpaw style. The Chinese boxer was landing big left hands all fight long, which closed up the right eye of Joyce and eventually led to the ringside doctor calling the fight in the sixth.
Bakole is confident in his ability to deal with the southpaw style of Zhang.
"I've never sparred or met him in the past but all I know is I learned to box from my brother (Ilunga Makabu) who is a southpaw, Usyk knows what I'm talking about here, they're not hard to work out or stop, I'll stop the guy. I'll give him a hard time," Bakole said.
