Roberto Marroquin, with the help of lead trainer Paul Reyes, of Dallas is adding a hard jab to his attack arsenal when he takes on rugged Daniel Diaz of Nicaragua at the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma on Saturday night.

Marroquin, a world-class 23-2, 16 KO featherweight, and Diaz, 19-5-1, 15 KOs, are fighting in the main event of Top Rank's Solo Boxeo Tecate fight card. UniMas will  televise beginning 11:30 pm eastern.

Marroquin has been training at the Fort Worth Reyes Gym.

"I'm not totally familiar with my opponent. He seems like a tall, rangy contender. I usually leave all of the studying to my corner," Marroquin said. "I just need to get in there, put on pressure, use a hard jab and outbox him.

"We sparred against bigger and taller guys to get ready for this. The best work I had came from my sparring partner Jose Hernandez. I am 100% percent ready for this fight both mentally and physically. Now it's all up to me to put on a great performance at the WinStar."

The first bell is set for 8 pm local time at the WinStar on Saturday night.
