Last Saturday night in Mexico City, Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39KOs) captured the WBO's interim-title at 140-pounds with a twelve round unanimous decision over Ukrainian boxer Sergey Fedchenko. Now Marquez wants to secure the WBO's "full title," which is currently held by Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12KOs).
Bradley faces Marquez's career rival, Manny Pacquiao, for the WBO's welterweight title on June 9th in Las Vegas. Marquez will return on July 14th in Texas. In several past interviews, Marquez's trainer, Nacho Beristain, called Bradley a "dirty fighter." He still believes Bradley uses questionable tactics in the ring and he would rather steer clear of the fight.
"Juan just won the interim-world championship. I know him, and now he won't rest until he captures the WBO's full championship - and that's the belt that Timothy Bradley has. Personally, I do not like that opponent - he's very dirty, uses his head, elbows, so we'll see," Nacho said.
