Trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristáin revealed that Juan Manuel Marquez will indeed fight Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz in Houston, Texas, and not in Las Vegas as many previously thought. Nacho advised ESTO that Golden Boy Promotions, who promote both fighters, wanted the event to land in Houston where Diaz is a major draw. The fight takes place on February 28 on HBO.
Nacho says that after Marquez tames Diaz, they are going to target WBA/WBO/IBF lightweight champion Nate Campbell. Campbell defends his titles against IBF mandatory Ali Funeka on February 14, also on HBO. If Campbell gets past Funeka, he may face whoever offers the most money because Marco Antonio Barrera, ranked number-one by the WBO, is waiting in the wings.
