Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez and World Boxing Council (WBC) President Mauricio Sulaiman have a difference of opinion on the upcoming fight between Amir Khan and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

Khan (31-3, 19KOs) will move up by eight pounds from the welterweight division to face Canelo (46-1-1, 32KOs) at a catch-weight of 155-pounds for the WBC middleweight title.

The HBO Pay-Per-View bout is set for May 7th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Marquez maintains that Canelo will be too big and Khan's chin will not be able to withstand the Mexican champion's power.

"We know that Amir is a super lightweight who just came to welterweight and is now going up by two weight divisions. This produces is an uneven fight. It is going to last as long as Canelo wants it to last. We now that Amir's chin is not durable, so if Canelo decides to attack and presses the action, and then connects - the fight will be finished," Marquez said.

Sulaiman responded to some of the comments being made by Marquez and others. He says the criticisms are "unfair and unfounded."

"There is no disadvantage in this fight. Khan is a great fighter, a worthy opponent for Canelo," Sulaiman said. "By no means is Khan an average fighter. He has a lot of skill. He is a former world champion. He is going through very a good moment in his career. I disagree, this is a very dangerous fight for Canelo Alvarez."
