Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40KOs) believes Ruslan Provodnikov was capable of knocking out WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (30-0, 12KOs) in March. Marquez felt the Russian fighter was too tired to finish Bradley off in the later rounds. Provodnikov had Bradley in trouble several times in the contest and put the champion down in the final round.
This Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Marquez will get his chance to test Bradley in the ring. If the Mexican star gets him in trouble, he believes he will finish Bradley off.
"I think Provodnikov got tired. I think he could have finished him, but he got tired from the early rounds. He tried really hard, but Bradley is a great fighter. He wasn't in there alone. Bradley was coming back, he was getting hit. [But] if I do get him in trouble I think I can finish him," Marquez said.
