Juan Manuel Marquez admits he was very concerned when he knocked Manny Pacquiao out in the sixth round of their fourth battle last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. After going to a draw in their first meeting, and losing controversial decisions in the next two fights, Marquez secured his revenge in the fourth battle with a perfect right hand that knocked Pacquiao out with one second left in the sixth. Pacquiao went down face first and was laying on the mat motionless.
"We are human beings and what you want is good health outside of the ring and I did feel a little bad because I'm professional and did not know how he would react, physically, [after I saw him laying there]. I was worried, but he recovered well after a few minutes," Marquez said.
"I was looking for the knockout and I got it done. I was going to try to knock him out with intelligence, experience and everything went well without a hitch. When he went down to the canvas I realized he was not going to get up. I worked on that right hand. Pacquiao was throwing a punch and missed and I countered with my right. I connected very solid and it finished the fight."
