David Benavidez has no shortage of HUGE fights on his radar. In an exclusive interview with BoxingScene, Jose Benavidez Sr. makes it clear that David still wants the biggest names at 175lbs including Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. Benavidez has previously said those are two fights he wants to make as he pursues more titles and major challenges. But there’s another name that could make things very interesting: Andy Ruiz Jr. Jose discusses the possibility of an all-Mexican showdown between Benavidez and the former heavyweight champion, along with David’s plans across multiple divisions. And with a potential Jai Opetaia showdown also building after the pair came face-to-face following Opetaia’s latest victory, Benavidez has some massive options ahead.
ProboxTV’s championship series is now on the ProBoxTV YouTube channel for $5/month.

Former WBC super middleweight champ Markus Beyer returns to action March 14 in Munich. Beyer is now promoted by Arena. Co-headlining with Beyer is Cuban heavyweight Odlanier Solis. Arena thus stages two events inside three days as they are in Halle/Saale March 11 with a show headlined by heavyweight Steffen Kretschmann and cruiserweight Herbie Hide.
On or not? Universum have announced a show for March 8 in Krefeld headlined by WIBF featherweight queen Ina Menzer, GBU and WIBF jr bantam titleholder Alesia Graf, heavyweight Vladimir Virchis and cruiser Rudolf Kraj. In the case of Virchis and Kraj the Universum press release says they are both featured in WBC eliminators but neither have opponents.
Virchis was supposed to fight Cuban Juan Carlos Gomez but he fell out with Arena and is now in the US. However, in an article in German paper Bild Zeitung, one gets the impression Arena and Gomez might be talking. The article also gives a rundown on Gomez´s many escapades outside of the ropes. One problem for Gomez in Germany is child support - according to Bild he´s taken no responsibility this far and may face court. In the ring Juan Carlos remains one of the best heavyweights around.
