Hard punching featherweight Mario Santiago (20-1, 14KOs) has inked a three-year deal with Top Rank. He hopes the deal will put him in position to land a major fight in 2010. Santiago returns on Saturday night in Texas in a tune-up against Chule Morris (11-7-2, 8KOs).

"Finally I can say that my future looks better. I have been a rather persistent person and the contract with Top Rank means that the fruits are starting to bloom," Santiago told Primera Hora.

Santiago sees big things ahead since Top Rank has a lot of the top featherweights under their banner, like Steven Luevano, Yuriorkis Gamboa and Juan Manuel Lopez who is moving up in weight. He would also like to fight Israel Vazquez and Celestino Caballero.

"I know that Top Rank has big plans in this division. The division is getting hot with Israel Vazquez, Yuriorkis Gamboa and now with 'Juanma' Lopez and Celestino Caballero, who are both moving up in weight. The good thing is that I'm still among the top 15 in the rankings and it's only a matter of time [before a big fight]," said Santiago.
