Hotel Presidente Intercontinental, Polanco, Mexico - Salvador Sanchez II (30-4-3, 18 KOs) retained the WBC's CABOFE featherweight title with an eight round stoppage over Juan Beltran (27-20-3, 18 KOs). The win possibly sets up a July clash with WBC featherweight king Jhonny Gonzalez. Discussions are still ongoing but the WBC has already given their seal of approval to sanction Gonzalez-Sanchez.

In a heated battle between two Mexican queens, Mariana "Barbie" Juarez won by ten round split decision (96-91, 94-95 and 98-90) over Arely "Machine Gun" Muciño, to retain the flyweight championship of the World Boxing Council.

They were trading punches early on. Mucino was dropped in the second round, but recovered well and used her speed to dominate exchanges on the inside. Mucino was game and pressed the action. Juarez used her experience, movement and boxing ability to steal rounds down the stretch. Juarez raised her record to 34 wins, 16 of them by knockout, in exchange for five defeats and three draws, while Muciño's record drops to 15 wins, eight by knockout, two defeats and one draw.
