Former champion Antonio Margarito appeared on a Mexican radio station and was asked for his opinion on the next generation of Mexican superstars - Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Margarito continues to train to stay in shape, but he has no plans to get back into boxing. He says his left eye is still "not 100%" after the injuries suffered during the bad beating that he took at the hands of Manny Pacquiao in 2010.
"I think Canelo is more of a boxer. He disappointed me, and also a lot of other Mexican people, with his last fight - because Canelo spoke so much that he was going to do for Mexico. Chavez has been bad. He was criticized for his last fight, but I've always said that Chavez needs to work. He is a good fighter but I think that he needs to work. I know that he hates to train, and he needs a trainer who will tell him what to do and make him work," Margarito said.
