During the most recent WBO convention in Las Vegas, WBO cruiserweight titlist Marco Huck happened to see trainer Don House working with then-WBC heavyweight belt-holder Bermane Stiverne.
Huck was so intrigued by what he witnessed that he approached House and they worked together for the next couple of days. Then House met with his management and then spent three week in Turkey with the rugged brawler.
"And a match was made,"said House, who is now the full-time trainer for Huck, and has worked with the likes of Steven Luevano and Joan Guzman among others in the past.
"I watched him fight. He's the type of guy he's tough, he's strong, he'll come at you but unfortunately he likes to trade punches. Anytime a fighter trades punches he's going to be susceptible to getting hit - we're not in the stock market, we're not in the trading business,'' he quipped. "We're only in the giving business, we want to give the punches."
As for where they will work together, House told BoxingScene.com:
"Actually he's going to be here in Las Vegas probably by the end of the month and we're going to be at Roy Jones' gym. I want to rub that in a little, Roy come on out. There's a mention of him fighting Roy, so c'mon out Roy."
Huck last fought in August when he outpointed Mirko Larghetti over twelve rounds. House says that he expects Huck to get back in the ring by mid-August.
