WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (29-1) talks to BoxingScene.com about his August 21st title defense versus Matt Godfrey.  Huck, born in Serbia but now based out of Germany, also talks about avenging his only professional loss to Steve Cunningham, title unification and more in this exclusive interview.

BoxingScene.com:  You had four fights last year and this will be your third fight this year leaving you time to get a fourth fight in this winter. How long do you think you can keep this type of pace up?

Marco Huck:  I am very young. I am just 25. I am just starting my real career as a world champion. Of course I do need proper resting after fights, but I feel very fresh and have big goals. Another thing is, to fight often is a good way to keep in shape.

BoxingScene.com: Lets look back at your last fight with Brian Minto. How do you rate your performance?

Marco Huck:  I think I pleased the crowd. I knocked him down three times. I was pleased with my performance, but there are always things to improve and to learn and I think I am still improving.

BoxingScene.com: Have you seen any of Godfrey's fights? What do you have to look out for?

Marco Huck:  He´s a strong guy. One thing for sure is that I will not take him lightly.

BoxingScene.com: Matt Godfrey will have been out of the ring almost a year when you fight him. Being that he might have ring rust do you plan on attacking him early?

Marco Huck:  I can't talk about my exact strategy right now. One thing for sure is that we will have a good strategy prepared for him. I look forward to landing big punches all the time. Another benefit is my speed.  I think that will be another key.

BoxingScene.com: After this fight would you be interested in unifying with the other cruiserweight champions?

Marco Huck: Yes, it is my goal to have four world titles at cruiserweight. But first things first, right now only Godfrey is on my mind.  That is what I am concentrating on.

BoxingScene.com: Now that your promoter Sauerland Event has signed Steve Cunningham it seems a rematch would be an easy fight to make. Are you interested in trying to avenge your only loss?

Marco Huck: Of course I want to avenge the darkest hour of my career rather sooner than later.

BoxingScene.com: You are a big draw in your adopted country of Germany. How did you become so popular there?

Marco Huck: I think the people like my style. My fights promise action and excitement. I want to put on a show every time I step into the ring.  I always want to give the fans the type of fights they like.

BoxingScene.com: Last question, do you have a message for the fans?

Marco Huck: I just came back from the Hall of Fame Weekend in Canastota and really enjoyed being in America. It is such a great country with passionate boxing fans. I hope to fight over there soon!
