Marco Antonio Barrera plans to continue his quest of becoming the first Mexican fighter to win four major titles in four weight divisions. In his last two outings, in January and March, he suffered bad cuts from head clashes. In January he was able to win by disqualification over Freudis Rojas but then he lost a five round technical decision to Amir Khan a few weeks ago.

Barrera plans to meet with his team and promoter Don King to figure out the next fight for his career. Barrera suffered a deep cut in the Khan fight, a cut that required 30 stitches to close. The cut will need several weeks and possibly a few months to properly heal.

"I'm very happy because I'm fine, thank God. It was very tough being there in Manchester, being in front of a great fighter with and having an eight-inch cut on my head. It never happened to me before and it was difficult," Barrera said.
