A proposed bout between WBC #1 ranked middleweight, Marco Antonio Rubio, and Colombian boxer Jairo Siris, is under fire. The fight was announced for June 4 in La Laguna at the Auditorio Centenario Gym in Gomez Palacio. The Boxing Federation of Colombia has reached out to the World Boxing Council, through its president Julio Torres, asking them to disallow the announced fight because Jairo Jesus Siris does not have a valid license to box and called it a fraud to the boxing public if the fight goes forward. Siris had his license taken away for health reasons in Colombia. Rubio wants to have this bout as a tuneup for a planned shot at the winner of next Saturday's clash between WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik and Silver title-holder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
