Former three division champ Marco Antonio Barrera is planning to return for the second bout of his comeback in April. At the recent WBO convention, Barrera was given the number-one ranking at 135-pounds. He expects to fight for that title, or some form of it, in April.

Barrera's brother Jorge and promoter Don King met with WBO officials during the convention and pressed for the fighter to get a title shot in the future. The WBO ruled that champion Nate Campbell would first defend his IBF title against mandatory Ali Funeka, and then make a defense of his WBO title. Depending on when, or if, Campbell-Funeka happens, there is nothing set in stone that directs Campbell to make a defense by April. Barrera could end up fighting for the interim title.

"In April, I expect to win my fourth world title in my fourth weight division," Barrera told ESTO
