MARCO ANTONIO BARRERA: SET FOR LATIN FURY 15: - "I'm Happy to Be With Top Rank - I Want One More Shot at the Title"
Three-time world champion Marco Antonio Barrera is training at Barrera's Gym in Guadalajara, Mexico to wire in for his upcoming fight on Top Rank's Latin Fury 15 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, June 26.
"This will be my first time fighting for Top Rank," Barrera said today from Mexico. "I am very happy for this as I have one more goal. I want to be the first Mexican champion to win world titles in four weight classes."
Barrera said he will campaign as a lightweight. He will take on Adilton DeJesus of Bahia, Brazil in a 10 round bout on June 26. Barrera has a record of 68-7 with 43 knockouts. DeJesus is 25-4 with 20 knockouts.
The chief trainer for Barrera is his brother, Jorge Barrera.
Top Rank and Zanfer Promotions are promoting Latin Fury 15. Barrera signed with Zanfer who contacted Top Rank about putting him on Latin Fury 15.
Latin Fury 15 features Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs. Ireland's John Duddy; Eric 'Little Hands of Steel' Morel vs. Jorge Arce plus Salvador Sanchez III in the opening bout on the Pay Per View telecast.
Barrera added he will be at ringside for the Miguel Cotto vs. Yuri Foreman world title fight at Yankee Stadium on June 5.

Unbeaten Texas fighter Roberto Marroquin weighed 123 1/2 pounds, his opponent Arturo 'Tyson' Camargo came in at 123 pounds. The Marroquin vs. Camargo fight is scheduled for six rounds. Marroquin lives and trains in Dallas.
