Unbeaten spotlight boxing featherweight talent Marcel Meyerdiercks (13-0, 5 KOs) will take the next step in his promising career against Zsolt Nagy (13-10, 5 KOs) on the October 10 “Universum Champions Night” show in Rostock, Germany.
“The ‘moment of truth’ is slowly coming,” stated Meyerdiercks. “In Rostock I want to show the local critics and the boxing experts that I belong to the European elite. I want and am working hard so I can soon be in title fights.”
Trainer Michael Timm adds, “Of course, Marcel has the boxing qualifications for a European title fight. He is a gigantic talent, works hard and is self-disciplined, but at 22 years of age he is still very young. If he continues to develop so well, many doors are open to him. Now against the Hungarian Nagy he should show once more what he can do. We are moving him along one step at a time.”
The show in Rostock will feature three high class heavyweight fights plus two female world title fights.
Unbeaten WBA #5, IBF #8, WBC #10, WBO #10 rated heavyweight KO artist Denis Boytsov (25-0, 20 KOs) will face Jason Gavern (18-5-3, 8 KOs), unbeaten Manuel Charr (12-0, 6 KOs) puts his unbeaten record on the line against veteran Sherman “Tank” Williams (34-10-2, 19 KOs), and Sebastian Köber (18-0, 13 KOs) meets Markus Tomala (6-0, 3 KOs) in a battle of unbeatens for the interim German heavyweight championship.
Champions collide in two female world title bouts as unbeaten WBC/WIBF featherweight champion Ina Menzer (24-0, 9 KOs) meets jr. featherweight champion Esther Schouten (24-5-1, 13 KOs) in a rematch of their January clash considered by many to be the female fight of the year, and the “Killer Queen” Susi Kentikian (25-0, 16 KOs) will display her spectacular fighting style defending her WBA and WIBF belts against WIBF jr flyweight champion Julia Sahin (20-0, 2 KOs).
